Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.  Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.  Helen Keller

As a corporate speaker and trainer, I recognized decades ago that learning by "doing," activating the visual part of the brain (95% of what we remember, we remember in pictures), and making sure there was sunlight in the conference room all contributed to more effective trainings.

However, it was not until I was a mother that I realized how varied individual learning styles can be. Even more significantly, I realized that no matter the learning style, someone who experiences significant and unchecked failure will lack confidence and the true belief that he or she can be successful in anything that is initially difficult or just "new."

And so it begins, a smiley face on the paper produces a smiling excited learner, but the lack of smiley faces and a persistent absence of them creates a child without a smile that begins to have self doubt in many areas and not just academics.  We strive to identify the source of your child’s learning difficulties and equip them with tools to succeed.  We also employ bright and engaging college students who have a passion for learning that is contagious.

For students who have struggled for years or for those who hit their "first wall" in a difficult AP course in high school, a caring, approachable, and smart academic coach can provide needed support and energy to succeed.  Our tutors give  vital explanation, time saving study tips and a confidence boost that increases engagement while lowering anxiety.  If your child is struggling or just wants to "get ahead," we can help.
